ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION (3-Year Term / 2 Years for Alt 1 / 1 Year for Alt 2, then 2 Years)
Nominated by Mayor with advice & consent of Governing Body. 7 members - 1 shall be a Planning Board member. There shall be 2 alternates.

PLANNING BOARD (Class I Term - Mayor’s Tenure in Office. Class II one year. Class III one year or completion of term of office, whichever comes first. Class 4 - four years (see code). Shall have alternate members in Classes II, III & IV - 2-year term).
Class I designated by mayor in writing to Clerk & Pl. Bd. secretary. Class II is a Borough official other than Council (see Code). Class III appointed by Council. Class IV appointed by Mayor - 6 citizens of the Borough with no other Borough office.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION (4-Year Term / 2- Year Term for Alternates)
Appointed by Mayor. 7 regular members including at least 1 Class A and 1 Class B. At least one less than majority shall be Classes A&B.. Class A is knowledgeable in building design & construction or architectural history and may reside outside PPB. Class B is knowledgeable or with a demonstrated interest in local history & who may reside outside PPB. Class C is a resident with no other office, except Planning Board or BOA. 2 Alternates are Class C.

OPEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMITTEE 1-Year Term for Reps & Rep Alts / 2-Year Term for Residents & Resident Alts / Term of office for Councilmembers.
Environmental Commission, Planning Board, Recreation Committee and Historic Preservation Commission appoint their own reps & alternates. Council appoints Councilmembers. 9 regular members: Environment Rep (1), Planning Board Rep (1), Recreation Rep (1), Historic Rep (1), Councilmembers (2). Mayor appoints (3) members and (1) alternate member who are residents and are not employees nor members of the Gov. Body, Env. Comm., Pl. Bd., Rec., or Hist. Pres. 2 non-voting student reps are matriculated resident PPBHS students in good standing, appointed by student council & approved by school administration.

Appointed by Mayor with Advice & Consent of Council. 5 members - must be residents. Terms effective January 1st.
Subsequent appointments are for 5 years.
