BY SIGNING AND SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION:
  1. The applicant agrees to follow all sections of Township Ordinance 2709-13 that establishes a program for backyard chicken raising.
  2. The applicant agrees to permit inspection of their property at any time by Township code or health inspectors for the purpose of determining compliance with this ordinance, and ensuring the fair treatment and sanitary conditions of the chicken(s).
  3. The applicant agrees to renew the permit annually, for the duration of chicken ownership.
  4. The applicant agrees that the permit for backyard chicken raising can be revoked for violation of the ordinance or unsanitary conditions and will remove the chickens within 48 hours of notice of permit revocation and violation by the Township.

New applicants need to attach the following:
  1. A plan of the chicken coop and run, with photograph and diagram.
  2. A plan of the property, including a diagram of where the chicken coop will be placed in relation to the owner’s home (at least 10 feet) and the proper distance from any neighboring house (at least 30 feet).
  3. Consent forms from all contiguous neighboring properties.
