  • The Short Term Rental license is valid through December 31st of the year issued, without proration. Short-Term Rental Licenses shall be renewed on an annual basis.
  • If any code violations were issued by the City with regard to the rental property, no short-term rental license will be issued until such time that such violation have been properly abated.
  • No conditional licenses will be issued. The property/unit will receive either a Pass or Fail for the License. Should this property/unit fail inspection, you will be advised of the deficiencies that need to be corrected. There will be no charge for the first re-inspection. There will be a $50.00 fee for any additional re-inspections.
  • No Short-term Rental property shall be rented to anyone younger than TWENTY-ONE (21) years of age.
  • Short-term Rental transient occupants shall comply with all ordinances of the City of Atlantic City including those regulating noise and nuisance conduct.
  • Upon approval of your application for a Short-term Rental License, the annual fee, which is based upon your permitted occupancy, must be paid prior to the issuance of your License.
    • One (1) to Six (6) Occupants: $1,000.00
    • Seven (7) to Eleven (11) Occupants: $1,500.00
    • More than Twleve (12) Occupants: $1800
    If the fee is not paid within 14 business days form the Invoice date, then the application fee will be forfeited and a new application will need to be submitted.
  • Trash and recycling pick-up day, and all applicable rules and regulations regarding trash disposal and recycling must be posted in a prominent location in the rental property. The number of containers will be upon permitted occupancy of the property. Excessive levels may require a private waste hauler. No open containers, containers without lids or plastic trash bags will be licensed.
  • Once the license is approved, a packet containing Emergency contact information will be provided containing information of various City Divisions.
  • The Short-term Rental License, which details the permitted occupancy, must be displayed in a prominent location in the property.

  1. All Property Taxes, water, and sewage charges MUST be fully paid up to date.
  2. Proof of General Liability insurance in a minimum of $300,000.00 ; and including coverage specific to short-term rental activity must be attached.
  3. If the property is a Condominium, a Letter of Approval from the Condominium Association must be attached specifying the unit number.
